The diakonia™ is a program of lay spiritual formation that includes a two year process of training and theological education. Click on the link below to read more about the program.

The process occurs in three basic ways:

• by thorough grounding in the classic seminary disciplines of practical, systematic, historical and Biblical theology; 
• by identifying and encouraging particular skills in ministry; by providing spiritual growth through worship, retreats, and a supportive community of fellow students and instructors. 

These are the tools diakonia uses to help equip God’s people for service in parish and neighborhood ministries. The primary theme and focus of the diakonia experience is found in this word of Scripture: “Let the one who would be great among you be your servant (diakonos).”

Fall Gathering November 13 - 15, 2015

In Hawaiian that means hello family!  

We are very excited about the upcoming Fall Gathering 

at the Lake Yale Baptist Retreat Center November 13 - 15, 2015.  

On Friday night, we are going to have a Hawaiian service including a hula dancer.  

The Bible verse is Romans 12:5 "So we being many are one body 

in Christ and everyone members members one of another." 

Dig out your muumuus, Hawaiian shirts, and your grass skirts!  

Join us for a weekend full of workshops, fellowship, worship, and friends.

This relaxing weekend getaway for women ages 18 - 108 to gather together, grow in their faith, and build lasting authentic relationships with one another and with God.  Getaway Garden is more than a short rest from everyday responsibilities, it's a weekend of: focusing on concepts of seasonality and timing; connecting with other women and with God in order to better understand ourselves and the authentic relationships we seek in life; growing through laughter and fun, through quiet medication and reflection; serving others in need through small seeds of grace and love; worshipping, praying, singing, and celebrating God's blessings as sisters in Christ; enjoying being pampered in a relaxing atmosphere; and so much more.
